The legendary TAJ MAHAL - the most beautiful memorial of love which mankind ever has seen
Taj Mahal, another day at the banks of the Jamuna (photo: Delhi, Agra & Jaipur ISBN 81-7437-064-1) It is an overwhelming sight and exceeds all you ever can imagine. It's fascination arises from the awareness, that it is a creation of love just as from its beauty. The memorial is located at the city of Agra. It was built between 1631 and 1653 by the emperor Shah Jahan as the tomb in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. During their 17 years marriage she was his constant companion and when she died after the birth of her 14th child, he was bowed with grief and aged over night.  After his death he was buried by her side behind the elaborate lattic from marble and precious stones below.
