Russia - Saint Peterburg
Church of the Savior on Blood
(also known as Church on Spilt Blood and Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ)
The church was erected from 1883 to 1912 right at the site, where Tsar Alexander II was assassinated in 1881. The medieval Russian architecture is modelled on the Saint Basil's Cathedral in Moscow.
