North Gate with view to the Jingshan Park  with the prospect hill (also called the coal hill), which was originally made with the earth from the moat surrounding the Forbidden City. The Pavilion of Everlasting Spring (wanchun) atop the middle hilltop used to be the highest point in the city and provides spectacular views of Beijing and the Imperial Palace.
