Palast der Vollkommenen Harmonie UNESCO World Heritage |
Standing on a multistage, luxuriously balustraded, marble terrace, the glazed palace with a height of 37,44 meters, (including the rooftop decoration) and a total of 72 pillars supporting the roof, is the grandest timber framework ever in China. The Hall of Supreme Harmony was symbol of the imperial power and the highest structure in the empire during the Ming and Qin dynasties. No other building was permitted to be higher any where. |
